Gastspieler aus CZE bei UBR

Bereits vor dem Ausbruch der Corona Pandemie startete Unihockey Basel Regio gemeinsam mit einem Tschechischen Verein Abklärungen zu einem regelmässigen Spieleraustausch auf Nachwuchsstufe. Die beiden Vereine haben dabei die gemeinsame Idee, ihren jungen Athlet*innen internationale Erfahrungen zu ermöglichen, von welchen diesen nicht nur im Sport profitieren können. Aufgrund der zahlreichen Corona Einschränkungen in den letzten beiden Jahren wurde diese Idee aber bisher noch nicht umgesetzt.

Vom zweiten Corona Unterbruch war die U18 von Unihockey Basel Regio sehr stark betroffen. Nicht weniger als 8 Spieler gaben während bzw. kurz nach dem Corona Unterbruch vor der Saison 2021/22 ihren Rücktritt aus dem Leistungssport bekannt.  Unter dem schmallen Kader litt insebesondere auch die Trainingsqualität, weshalb es für das Team sehr schwierig war, die nötigen Fortschritte zu erzielen um in der höchsten Spielklasse nach dem erneuten Meisterschaftsabbruch wieder Fuss zu fassen.  Da in der Region selber keine weiteren Zugänge möglich waren, wird auch die Idee des internationalen Spieleraustausch wieder geprüft und das Netzwerk im Ausland kontaktiert. Insbesondere in Tschechien wurden dabei rasch mehrere interessierte Spieler gefunden. Nachdem die letzten Fragen zur Ausbildungssituation und den Gastfamilien gelöst wurden, trafen die vier Spieler Anfangs Januar in der Schweiz ein. Die Erfahrungen aus den ersten Wochen sind dabei für alle Seiten sehr positiv. Die Spieler haben sich bestens in ihren Gastfamilien und den Teams sehr gut integriert, können von zu Hause ihren schulischen Verpflichtungen nachkommen und absolvieren zahlreiche Trainings mit der U18, U21 und im RLZ Nordwestschweiz. Auch von Seite Verein sind aus sportlicher Sicht viele positive Punkte zu vermerken, so dass sich dieser Austausch in Zukunft sicher wiederholen wird. Bald hoffentlich auch auf dem umgekehrten Weg mit den ersten UBR Athlet*innen, welche Erfahrungen im Ausland sammeln können.

Unihockey Basel Regio bedenkt sich an dieser Stelle nochmals herzlich bei allen Gastfamilien für ihre Bereitschaft, die Spieler während ihrem Aufenthalt aufzunehmen.

Kurzinterview mit Marek, Jan, Matej R und Matej S auf Englisch:

1) Wieso habt ihr euch entschieden temporär zu UBR zu wechseln? Why you decided to come to UBR/Switzerland?

Marek: It seemed like a great idea to improve in every way. Get to know life in Switzerland, specifically in the family and also how it works in the club. I was very excited about it, because I had the opportunity to taste the workouts here earlier and I immediately saw that there is a piece of work that I want to be a part of.

Jan: I decided to come here because i want gain as many experience as i can. Not only floorball experience but life experience too.

Matej R: It is great opportunity to discover something new. Not even floorball things but experiences for hole life. And of course push myself to the next level.

Matej S: It's big opportunity to meet new people, see new places, enjoy unrepeatable experiences and learn something. It was offer, which I couldn't decline.

2) Erzähl uns von deinen bisherigen Erfahrungen in der Schweiz. Tell us about your experience so far in UBR/Switzerland

Marek: So far, I'm just happy, the beginning was something new for me, so I looked around and slowly started working on everything. Now I'd say I'm better at it, but there's still work to be done. I get along very well with the team and specifically with the boys and we have a great party, with every single training I feel that I can move in the little things. The coaches help me in everything and especially my current Swiss family, I am very happy about it and I would like to thank them for that, I appreciate.

Jan: So far i’m just getting used to on different floorball style but everybody in team are nice on us and coaches are really good. My host family is also very nice on me and they are really supportive.

Matej R: Experiences from UBR/Switzerland are only great. Club is working well and I like the access of every member. Switzerland is beautiful country with modern cities but the best part is nature. So I'm very happy there and I'm enjoying every moment there.

Matej S: Well I have experienced lot of things here in Switzerland and I hope next will come soon. I explored Basel, also Zürich (Basel is more beautiful) with my hosts. With the family i visited a football game, that was cool. About unihockey, I have been on lot of trainings plus four matches so far and I have to say, it's faster and harder than in Czechia. Unfortunately we didn't win yet, so I hope it will be better in playouts and playoffs.

3) Was sind deine Ziele für die nächsten Wochen? What are your goals for the next weeks?

Marek: Of course, my goal is to win the playoffs with the U18 guys and move on and with U21 also work and move in everything, that's the team goal. As a person, I would like to move here both with personality and in the floorball side. It will take some time, but I enjoy it every day and I enjoy working on myself and being part of the UBR team.

Jan: Like i said i want gain many experience, but also i want to help my team to stay in A. Than i want improve my english and experience new culture.

Matej R: The main goal is win play out with U18 for sure. Another goals are working on myself and enjoy last 2 months there.

Matej S: Goals are pretty clear now. We have to stay in the highest league with U18 and I hope I will be able to be part of the U21 team, which is going to the highest league :). And of course enjoy my weeks here in Switzerland.
